Amp'd Mobile launches pre-paid service

Youth-centric MVNO Amp'd Mobile has added pre-paid service to its lineup. Previously the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) relied soley on post-paid service contracts. Pricing runs as follows:

• Calls - $.10/minute
• SMS/MMS - $.10/$.25
• Data usage - $.375/megabyte
• Push-to-talk - $1 per day for unlimited usage

All content is priced the same with the addition of a 25% surcharge. Thus, a $.99 music download will cost $1.24 for pre-paid customers. Phones cost aproximately $50 more for pre-paid orders, from $99-$149.
