Xero Mobile gets sold before launch

Xero Mobile has sold itself to newly minted corporation Advanced Mobile Communications. Xero is a pre-launch mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that wants to give away mobile service in exchange for showing users advertisements. MobileTracker has covered Xero several times in the past, especially its connection with now defunct Gizmondo. Most recently we noted the company was under investigation by the SEC.

Xero sold "substantially all of its assets and liabilities” to AMC. A records check performed this afternoon shows that the company incorporated in Delaware very recently, on September 19th to be exact.

Xero hasn't yet launched service but claims to have a patent that covers its business idea of trading airtime for ads.
