Consumers rejoice. A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia
ruled in favor of the FCC's plan to not make consumers change phone numbers when they change carriers. The suit which was brought by Verizon Wireless stated that number portability was unnecessary, arbitrary and capricious.
If all continues to go well, expect to see number portability in November.
