Motorola today announced a new camera phone for the European and Asian markets. The C550 sports an integrated VGA resolution digital camera, multimedia messaging and Java support. It should hit store shelves this year. One of the more interesting aspects of the phone is that it comes with an application called MotoMixer. It allows users to make their own polyphonic ringtones--either on the handset or on hellomoto.com. Motorola has been criticized for its slow adoption of camera phones. Despite lots of new models this year, the company has only a select few with cameras. The company also announced 5 more new phones for Europe/Asia today, but they are all in the low-end market.
