AT&T Wireless stock jumps on merger rumor
Investors pushed AT&T Wireless [
AWE] up more than 5% in the first 2 hours of trading today
thanks to a rumor about a possible merger with Cingular. We
first reported on this rumor back in November.
The idea of an IPO is also being
tossed around at Cingular HQ. 2004 should be an interesting year for the US wireless carrier market.
