Sprint PCS announces Game Lobby

Sprint PCS is going after the mobile gamer with its newest push, Game Lobby. The company says the service is, "a nationwide virtual mobile community for gamers to meet, recommend games and challenge each other", which if pulled off right sounds like a winner. You'll be able to use Game Lobby on select Java enabled PCS Vision phones starting next month. Here are some of the features of Game Lobby: * Centralized listing of high score postings across all Game Lobby games regardless of game publisher * Buddy Lists for challenging and tracking friends * Extended game functionality (including the ability to meet, chat with and even taunt other gamers) How much will this all cost? It's free, but you have to buy one of the compatible games first. Sounds fair, and if the service is lousy, you still get a game.
