Bluetooth spec gets a speed boost

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group
announced a new spec dubbed Enhanced Data Rate that promises to speed up Bluetooth's data transfer up to 3x. Moreover, less power is used which should lead to longer battery life. If everything goes as planned, look for EDR devices in 2005 (they are backwards compatible with today's Bluetooth tech).
