Sprint launches Rhapsody radio service

Sep 19 2005 - 09:35 AM ET | Sprint Nextel

Sprint Nextel this morning announced a partnership with RealNetworks that resulted in a mobile version of Real's Rhapsody radio service. Sprint's PCS Vision subscribers will be able to access streaming music stations, much like with the mobile SIRIUS service that was announced recently.

There are stations focused on different music genres, including alternative, pop, country, R&B and hip hop. There is also a podcast channel, but it's not clear what type of content (commercial or non commercial) will be featured there. Sprint is charging $6.95 a month for unlimited access to Rhapsody radio.
