CES 2006 - MobiTV today introduced a major new version of its streaming TV service, dubbed MobiTV2. The upgraded service is available now to customers using Sprint PCS and Cingular. For those unfamiliar, MobiTV streams live television to mobile phones. The frame rate is lower which makes it able to stream, but unlike other video services (such as V Cast) the content is live.

New features of MobiTV2 include a programming guide and improved audio/video quality. The programming guide allows users to see what's on instead of channel surfing.

MobiTV has over 500,000 subscribers worldwide.
