Jan 31 2006 - 04:55 PM ET | Cingular, LG Mobile Phone

lg f9200The LG F9200 was launched today by Cingular (in addition to the SLVR L7). We caught up with the F9200, which is an update to the F9100, at CES and were impressed with its feature set for a consumer level phone.

Those features include:

  • Full slide out QWERTY keyboard
  • Email client compatible with Yahoo!, Hotmail and MSN
  • Dual band GSM, 850/1900 MHz
  • Color display with 65K colors
  • Speakerphone
  • 8MB memory

Cingular is selling the F9200 for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and new 2-year service activation. It's available now.

it says here http://www.cellphonestalk.com/cellphonereviews/lg/f9200/intro.html

"The LG F9200 retails for $99 with a 2 year service contract."

isn't that too much for a low-end phone? it has only a 0.3 megapixel cam... nothing special!

in response to Rhonda, while on a call, press in the joystick and this will activate the speakerphone. press the joystick again and back to a private conversation.

This site states that the phone was launched on 1/31/06, but I've shopped stores in my area and looked up availability in other US locations through the cingular website. It is not listed on the cingular website in any of the areas I looked up either. Does anyone know when this will be widely available on the cingular website and retail locations?
