Check in via MMS for air travelers

Deutsche BA, a smaller German airline, has started a new service that allows flyers to check in via MMS. The mechanism is simple; approximately three hours before a passenger is scheduled for a flight, the airline will send a barcode via MMS to the passengers cell phone. Once the passenger arrives at the airport, their phone is scanned for arrival, avoiding long lines at the check in counter.

Lufthansa is planning on offering the same service this summer.
