New Shakira single debuts on Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless is still busy promoting music on top of its V Cast service--this time by exclusively launching a new single from Shakira. The exclusive period will be two months, quite a long time in the music industry.

Besides the full-length song, Verizon Wireless is also selling the music video, ring tone, ring back tone, wallpaper and behind-the-scenes footage of the video shoot for "Hips Don't Lie." A national advertising campaign for V Cast will feature snippets of the new Shakira content.

Full-length music downloads became a part of V Cast earlier this year, with the original introduction taking place at CES. We reviewed the service and liked it more than Sprint's music store. Songs cost $1.99 when purchased from a handset and $.99 when purchased from a PC.
