Cingular Wireless this week launched the LG CG300, a mid-level clamshell handset. Features of the LG CG300 include:
Cingular is selling the CG300 for $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a 2-year service contract.
I jsut recently bought this phone, and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's not too much gizmos and gadgets and has just the programs I want. It's very easy to use and the camera pictures come out good.
Pros
-small and handy
-bluetooth
-picture id
-customizeable ringtones
-PTT
Cons
-thick
-doesnt show picture of caller on front screen
that's pretty much it
i love it a lot.
http://www.cellphonestalk.com/cellphonereviews/lg/cg300/intro.html it says here that the lg cg300 uses an OLED screen... so are LCD screens now history? howcome OLED is not so widely used in current cell phones?
"Note: LG CG300 has an external OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) screen that has the following advantages:
- Produces brighter, sharper and more clearer images.
- OLED screens refresh at much faster rates than other screens and are therefore better at viewing videos.
- It is estimated that OLED screens provide 4 times as much colors as LCD screens."
I want this phone but i would like someone to email me letting me know if this phone has an alarm and if so how many can be set.
PLEASE someone email me soon I'd like to know if this phone has smileys in the text messages (like if you press ":-)" will it turn to a smiley face!?
Hello I would like 2 buy this phone but I wanna know if u can download full music ringtones for example sean paul or wisin y yandel well you get what I am saying or can you like download it from the cpu to the phone? I need an answer please thanks.....ok
The Bluetooth on this phone is virtually useless! I just bought 2 of these BECAUSE the phone has Bluetooth so I can download my address book into the phone... Problem is that the phone is only capible of printing to a Bluetooth printer and connecting to a headset - there is NO support for computer interface for downloading contacts, schedule, midi or picture files.
Other than that, it's a great feeling phone. I was in the store choosing between the CG300 and the other Bluetooth-enabled PTT phone, the Samsung D357; and, ended up choosing the LG for it's look and feel. The buttons are easier to feel and push and the camera takes pretty darn good pictures (significanly better than the Motorola phone I was getting rid of). So, rather than getting one LG and one Samsung, I ended up getting both LGs. Then to get home and discover the complete lacking of significant Bluetooth function... Thank goodness for Cingular's 30-day retrun policy or I'd be cancelling my service with them right now for false advertising.
I like Tater Chips
how do i email my pictures to myself so that i can print them or do i have to use that bluetooth thingy?
I likes them biskits with mustard on 'em.
I just got the cg300 on 09/09/2006. I had an old analog phone and needed to update. My wife and I are "Old School" 54 y.o. and did not want something too complicated with features that we would never use but I enjoy the push to talk technology. My wife can easily make and receive a basic call without having to read the instruction manual.
I especially like the downloadable ringtones available from my service provider (Cingular). The "Soul Bossa Nova" from Quincy Jones is my favorite (That's the Austin Powers Theme, groovy baby). This is the original music, not the "bell-like" sound heard on the older phones.
The alarm clock and calendar alert are useful features. Very good backlight - highly visible. The speaker phone is clear and loud. The menu is straight forward and easy to manuveur. The keypad is large enough for my big fingers.
The camera takes good/clear pics, while not a Canon Powershot A430, it is passable.
I share the cons with many users in that the phone needs a battery that remains charged for longer periods. It seems 2-3 days at standby mode is the limit and must be recharged. It wouldn't hurt to get a car charging adaptor plug when buying the phone.
All said, I don't regret buying this phone considering we get a $50.00 rebate AND a State Employee discount.
