Rumor: Apple iPhone to be Cingular exclusive

ThinkSecret, a popular and historically accurate Apple rumor site has posted an article stating that the widely expected mobile phone from Apple will be a Cingular exclusive at launch. This comes at no surprise to analysts because Cingular is the only GSM carrier in the US with a 3G network (and both large CDMA carriers already operate their own music stores). The exclusivity period is for six months, after that it would likely move to a more global launch.

ThinkSecret previoulsy noted that they are expecting the so-called iPhone to sport a 2.2" screen and 3 megapixel camera. Those specs wouldn't be revolutionary but would place the handset in the meaty part of the high-end curve.
