The FCC has posted approval documents (FCC ID A3LSCHI830)for the Samsung SCH-i830, a Windows Mobile powered handset with both GSM and CDMA technology. The Samsung i830 appears to share the features of the i730, except for WiFi and a camera (though these are optional features on the i730).

Features of the Samsung i830 include:

  • Slide out QWERTY keyboard
  • Bluetooth
  • GSM 900/1800 and CDMA 800/1900

Other features on the i730 that have not yet been confirmed on the i830 include 64MB of memory, EV-DO and a 65K color screen.

The i830 could ship on either Verizon Wireless or Sprint PCS. Test photos did not identify a carrier.
