UTStarcom announces 7000 Series

CTIA 2005 -- UTStarcom has announced a series of CDMA mobile phones made for North America. Two of the phones are entry-level, while the third adds a camera with optical zoom. Very few camera phones have optical zoom (typically zooms on camera phones are digital, which is software that creates the illusion of zoom). Because the phones are not very techy, we've listed a little about each below.

CDM-7000 An entry-level phone with a compact size and weight. * 102x80 pixel 4K color screen * 3.3" x 1.8" x .9" and a weight of just 79 grams CDM-7100 A flip phone with dual color screens (both are CTSN), but still very entry level. * Main display: 128x160 pixel 65K colors * Sub display: 96x64 pixel 4K colors * 3.3" x 1.8" x .9" and a weight of just 79 grams * BREW CDM-7200 The only 7000 series with a camera. * VGA camera with flash and optical zoom * All of the features of the CDM-7100
