It has been no secret that the Samsung SCH-i730 was heading to Verizon Wireless, but today marks its official launch. Today's launch focuses on business customers, but the i730 will be available to everyone starting July 7th. The big news is that the phone has kept WiFi as a feature--despite it not being listed on the various sneak promos from Verizon Wireless. Many insiders thought that Verizon Wireless removed WiFi to beef up sales of its data plans. Features of the Samsung i730 include: * EV-DO high-speed data as well as WiFi * Microsoft Windows Mobile Second Edition * 240 x 320 pixel 65K color display * Bluetooth * 64 MB RAM/128 MB Flash and an SD I/O expansion slot * Intel PXA 272 processor running at 520 MHz The i730 retails for $599.99 with a two-year service contract. As stated before, it's currently selling only in business channels with the consumer launch still a few weeks away. The photo below was taken at CTIA 2005
