Wow, looks like a pretty decent handset for Nextel. But I wonder about battery life--that seems to be the weak point for most of their phones.

Well I have the 860, and I love it, especially this little button to flip it open. That is what is keeping me from getting the 930 next week, it has no little button, but I heartell this one does. And Bluetooth too?? its a wrap. out

Finnaly, sprint nextel comes w/ the greatest phone, but no bluetooth. (i930)!!

i have the i870 it is the crazyest thing i ever held. this phone does so much. my cousin has the i930 it is so huge. it look like u have a vcr on ur belt. the i870 is worth the wait and money

I almot puchased the i870 till i saw the price, $1,300.00. I don't think so. I saw it for sell on a web site. Motorolla said that they put a few out on the market for testing that is most likely how Tony got it.

the i930 does have the quick-flip release button. but it is just too thick. the i870 is the right size and with the mini-SD slot - will be expandable so you can play a good amount of music. i870 sounds worth the wait.

the i870 is a nice phone with all you need. I have it and it's great. The i930 is only 65k resolution and the i870 is 262k resolution, way better. Better everything.

Okay I agree with alot of you, I have the I-860 I have been waiting for the I-930 since before I signed up with Nextel 1 year now from there postponment and they still disapoint me that it doesnt have blue tooth technology, that is sad.

And anothe Nextel fat ass phone, what's up with this company not to mention we merged with such a low standard company like Sprint, I really never thought Nextel would merge because that they were one of the main things they had was a prestigues name.

The battery life on all these Nextel phones are horible I am hoping that the extended battery I just ordered of the internet is any good.

Now the I-870 is definetely an option for me, how has Fin has gotten one already?

Both the 930 and 870 have bluetooth. The 870 will not have MS Mobile on it. YOu all can complain all you want about Sprint, but it was a good move for Nextel. The two companies together added more subscribers than the other "baby bell" clones. As for blazen b - speak English. Why would you buy both phones? The 870 is not even out yet and the 930 is $350.00 - come on, someone with that much money to blow should be able to spell "a lot" not alot.

I know the I870 has the external caller I.D., but is it or does it show pictures? Can I set it up to just have the picture of whoever is calling show on the external caller I.D.? Instead of the name, or number. Also, how much is it selling for????????????? Corporate Accounts @ Nextel told me it was supposed to be coming out Nov. 1st. But they don't know how much it is going to be selling for.

I ordered the i930 but i guess there was a problem or the recalled them or something. i got the 870 for $410 plus shipping. they said they recieved them today. the 930 and the 870 both have bluetooth from what i've read. but i don't know if the 870 has a flip button.

Um... so the phone is actually out.. Thank god.. HOWEVER... Nextel site says 310K camera on the i870.. Whats up with that.. If that is the case.. very disappointing....

Big Ben.. What a dufus.. How can you possibly get so bent out of shape over what's is posted on an informational web site.. I enjoy all the "fluff" that comes on new high tech toys... Thats what keeps people, including myself buying the latest and greatest.. Regardless of what you need it for, the phone has been talked about for months having a megapixel + camera on it.. Its terrible that they couldn't get it done..

Well Justin....give us your review of the phone. I personally have a i730 and was holding out until Nextel produced a Bluetooth phone. What are your experiences with the i870?

Best phone I ever had.. First and foremost, I will be getting the 512MB memory card.. The higher megapixel camera, and the storing of tunes for the MP3 quickly fills things up. The bluetooth is great.. Got my notebook and my phone synched up. Cant really say much more right now, cause I haven't had all that much time to play... Anyone know if I can use wireless hotspots to jump on line rather than using Nextel online.?

Yea... After I actually had time to sit down and read thru the manual I unfortunately found no wi-fi.. Only downfall I have found so far.. The specs on line never said anything about wi-fi, however a buddy of mine just got a new Sprint phone that does.. Its pretty sweet,,, synchs right up with my wireless as soon as he walks in my house or any hotspot for that matter..

Just finished ordering the i870 as an upgrade to my i830...Finally..BLUETOOTH. It seems to have everything i need as an HVAC service contracor and more. Although the i830 looked good, it wasn't the greatest of phones. I'll keep you uopdated on how the i870 holds up. Btw..the cost of the upgrade including taxes and b.s. charges was $360.00

Now I MIGHT be mistaken as I don't OWN a 930 (I'm still clutching my 730 untill I'm SURE I've found the right upgrade). But on the Sprint/Nextel site it says NOTHING about the 930 having bluetooth and I'm 99.9% sure IF it had it they would not leave that unmentioned. If anyone owns a 930 and I'm wrong please tell me.

ok, here it is...i've had the 870 for about 2 weeks now and i love it. It has a nice large screen and buttons , big help for us slightly older people. The battery life is great, the Bluetooth is fantastic...my only complaint has to do more with nextel service than the phone, in order to switch from direct connect to direct talk you have to jump through hoops and with service spotty around here, it would be nice if it switched automatically. As for the camera and M3 player...don't really use them on the phone, have a digital camera and an apple nano. so who cares.

Hi, I just got an i870 on Friday (12/16/2005). After using the phone now for a week, I can say that is is cool. Believe it or not, I upgraded to this phone from a BlackBerry 7520. I'm glad I did because any one who has ever used a BlackBerry know tbat about the only true feature is email on the go. The i870 gives me the ability to send text messages, pictures, receive pictures, an MP3 player, and much, much more. The ONLY negative thing that I have against the i870 is that the battery life SUCKS. I don't know why Nextel is displaying that the talk time is around 165 minutes because it's not. I think my talk time is usually around 100 minutes (if not less). I just ordered the Maximum Capacity Battery and it's door online today so I will see how the battery life is on that battery after I receive it on next week. I do recommend the purchase of the phone. I think that you guys would love it. If this helps anyone, I've also asked about 3 different nextel professionals which phone would they prefer out of the i870 and the i930. Each of them said the i870.

I got the i870 and everytime i try to download music it says write protected and i checked the thing on the side and it is unlocked. I have been on the phone with nextel all day and i was just wondering if anyone knew how to remove the write protection?? Thanks.... and the battery for these phones suck!

My girlfriend is complaining that I'm spending too much money on un-neccessary things, but I ask you, Isn't the I-930 worth it. Or should I just get the i-870. I think rather then trading in my i-860 that I have now, I'm going to just give it to my g-friend to shut her up...

i870: Great because of: bluetooth, the front buttons,

i930: great because of windows and the smart phone crap, though its harder to use the phone,

i recommend if you like a phone in wich you like to talk maybe listen to some music and stuff, get the i870, but if you like to surf the internet with your cellphone and use messenger and all that crap and thats better looking get the i930.

but thats just me, still i need some one to tell me that one of those phones are better cause i cant decide witch one to keep.

Got the H700 Bluetooth headset for my i870 and it sucks.! Bad.! Static like crazy just for having my phone in my pocket 3 feet away from the headset. Its supposed to be good for up to 30 feet. Dont know if its the headset itself or maybe the bluetooth on the phone is junk. Im going to test the headset on a friends Razor and see if its any better.. If not the headset is going back. If it works better, Im making a trip to the Nextel store cause the 870 bluetooth option must be junk. Anyone have any experience's to share..?

Justin. I have the I870 with a Jabra BT250 headset. I have the same problems, with the flip closed and in the holder on my hip I get all kinds of static and my voice is distorted on the other end and cuts in and out. The phone will also disconnect from the headset several times over a period of about fifteen minutes of not being used. Anybody else have these problems. I can't get a straight answer out of Nextel, I just think that the bluetooth they use is awful.

i have the i870 and it has a 1.3megapixel camera on it.As for mikes answer i have the moto.h500 bluetooth earpiece and i dont have that problem at all as a matter of fact i can chirp with my headset and it doesnt come out on the speaker at alland i start getting static about 50 feet away from the phone.

The I870 is a piece of crap. If you haven't bought one yet, DONT! Let this serve as your warning. It drops calls, the battery sucks, and it powers off constantly and in general it SUCKS! Save your money and frustration.

Nextel won't care either. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they finally admitted that there are design flaws in it which make it have these problems. I wonder why they are still selling it. Try a different phone!

If you are not in a contract with NextHELL, don't start one, you'll be very sorry!
