I currently own the LG 9100, and the battery life SUCKS BIG BALLS! I charge it in the morning, and by the night (after a few texts and calls), I got ONE BATTERY BAR LEFT!!! What's up w/all these cool QWERTY-type phones THAT LACK A CAMERA!?!?!?!

I agree, what's up with these cool phones not having a camera. I like the fact that it looks like a flip phone, rather than a candybar style phone. I want it, but the fact of no camera, makes me shy away from it.

exactly i wanted this phone but eh. it dosent have a camera yes the style is nice, and nice features brings me back but, still no camera so i might just go for the Nokia 6102 nokia always gots good reception, but i might stick with the Samsung D307 any one have the nokia 6102 or know anything about it?

Its cute like a snazzy compact. Right price. I wonder if it will/can be loaded up with Windows Mobile 5.0? Inquiring minds wanna know?

I have the LG 9100. VERY disappointed with it. Not as great as it looks. I originally had the NOKIA 6800, the best QWERTY phone I ever had. I think NOKIA needs to bring that type of phone back.

I just got this D307 phone... its pretty cool looks amazing and everything... awesome features; however, the no camera part is driving me nuts i can't believe it doesnt have a camera all phones have cameras now but samsung decided to make a wicked phone and take out the best feature to balance it out and make it another average phone, im pissed!

I just don't understand all the comments about a camera _not_ being included in this phone. Does anyone actually "use" camera's in phones? I can draw less blurry then the pictures they take! I have a digital camera, why the hell do I want to pay for another one? Same goes for mp3 playing, I have an iPod, stop trying to make my phone into a bad knockoff of one and charging me for it..... Then... people complain about battery life.... "I want my phone to toast my bagel, but I want the battery to last a week too!" Let the phone be communication device, not a swiss army knife... watch... That's next!

Well Great Spinoza has it right. For those of us who can not have a Cam phone at work this is GREAT!!! Had a Treo but had to let it go as I could not have it with me all of the time. Need to look at this guy.

i so agree, let the phone to be phone only, make it slick, small, and have bluetooth so i won't run over grandma while chatting as i drive.
that way i won't be 86th from any .gov buildings.

So will the 307 replace a treo with features for address, calender, and email?

I just got the phone and i'm impressed with it. Its small but you can tell its durable. The keys are a little confusing to get the hang of... but if you're a more-than-average tech kinda guy, its not that difficult. You can pick it up pretty quickly.

One knock on the phone is the fact that you cannt access all of the same features in "mini-laptop" mode or whatever you wanna call it... I wanted to add an address entry and either you can't do it or I didn't figure out how... but it has bluetooth so i guess you can enter numbers that way. Speakerphone works nice. I send a lot of text messages, and this seems like the best option for me besides having a phone the size of a tape deck (like the treo).

If You'are thinking about getting this phone for the text messaging features, then you need to know the true text messaging capabilities of the Samsung SGH-D307

i just got this..its really good. I love the minilaptop and who needs a camera...thats why god invented dig cams. The outside screen sux though. It looks very 2002..not very fancy but phone rocks

Hey - I'm looking into getting this phone because my contract is almost up, but I use IM a lot and for the ones that have it, do ALL of you buddies pop up on your buddy list or only a selected few? I still think the phone is pretty awesome and I have a digital camera who needs the phone camera? Does anyone really use it? But, please someone answer - do all ur buddies pop up when on the IM part of the Samsung D307?

I just got the samsung d307, and billy you should too! For me the IM didnt come up with all of my buddies, but all u need is to write down all your favorite buddies and add them! Its not that hard and it doesnt take too long. And you are right, who needs a camera?

I just have one problem i have 300 buddies and like i usually have 100 favorite ones. :) but im def gonna get the phone its amazing and im obessed but please when you get a chance - please just let me know like how AIM is and everything becuz i us IM a lot, and i mean A LOT of work and such. But i need my buddies - so please help me out!!! :)

also - one more quick thing - some1 who has the phone.....when you sign on using aim....does the little cell phone pop up next to your name or is it like if you were to sign onto a computer? because i cant stand when i have the cell phone in front of my name on my phone because no1 knows that i am on! they just think that my messages are being fowareded!

Billy, I know, I also have like 100 buddies I want! But choose the ones that are on all the time, and the ones you talk to the most. For me, my friends see I am on a cellphone. If they question about why I am typing slow or why it says "fowarded message" I just tell them I am on a cellphone, either in the beginning or when the tome is needed in the chat.

hey, i just got the samsung d307 or "cingular sidekick" its hott and i love it! however, on AIM i cant put an away message on/status message like its always I am not responding to message now and that makes meh mad. Im in HS, and im really looking for a phone that i can use for aim a lot and my parents wont go to t-mobile - this is the next best thing/but is there any1 i can change it? ight peace

Got it and it's going back! You can't use the QWERTY for the calender/memo's! What's the point?! No camera, no wifi, no OS, no clue! Good design, WASTED potential! Why have QWERTY and "mini-laptop" ONLY for text messages, there is SO much more a phone should be able to do to compete! I want a treo 700 that folds up just like this!

u might wanna hurry and get it cuz i heard they're discontinuing. I used to have one the phone is great if you don't care about a camera. The volumes great and when it's closed you just flip the top side ways and the screen changes horizontaly so you can type and leave notes...etc.. great for organizing

can u surf the web with this phone..like real web pages? about to buy the sidekick 3.. but i would rather stick with cingular...can n e body help me out? is the web browser good?
