Samsung a930 announced

Jan 04 2006 - 02:18 PM ET | CES, Samsung

CES 2006 - The Samsung a930 was one of many new Samsungs introduced this week at CES. The clamshell phone sports music control buttons on its face (shown at right).

Features of the a930 include:

  • EV-DO high-speed data
  • Bluetooth
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • Speaker phone with stereo speakers
  • Video on Demand (VOD) and Music on Demand (MOD). The phone can either play content on the memory card or stream it, which is handy for large MP3 collections.

The Samsung a930 is expected to launch in the first quarter. Pricing and carrier information were not available.

(Please excuse the poor photo, it came directly from Samsung. We'll try and take a better one this evening.)

The review is incorrect, the a930 can NOT play MP3 files. It will only play files in the proprietary MS WMA format. You will have to convert an MP3 file to WMA, which will degrade the sound quality, in order to play it on this phone.
