this phone is absoluteley amazing just get one and see all the cool stuff it can do

J Bizzle Jun 11 2006

I bought this phone yesterday...Its amazing...well worth the price. Cheaper than the SLVR and about the same price as the V3 but more features. The V3i will be out soon yet it will most likely be far more expensive. Its a great value...It looks better than the T-moble one too!

mr constantine Jun 11 2006

this phone is dank

gf gf Jun 15 2006

According to the manual: The MP3 Player can only play MP3 files recorded at 192 kbps or less.

Piece of junk!!!

lambchop Jun 17 2006

hey gf, you're an idiot....192 kbps is perfectly fine for a phone mp3 player. sorry you can't hear your maroon 5 songs at 320....

Jason Jun 17 2006

how do u transfer songs to the phone

bonjovi firepants Jun 18 2006

i want one of these

Martin Jun 22 2006

HOW DO YOU TRANSFER SONGS TO THE PHONE?????
OMFG! Where are you from dude? You do it with telepathy... (Not really). Ever heard of Bluetooth? No, not your cousin's tooth that are blue...

tokyowalker Jun 24 2006

very cool phone. Good pics good video and nice screen. The voice dialing is pretty amazingly good. The only things is, the phone locks the keypad on the face everytime the face is closed. So if you want to make a phone while the face is closed, you have to unlock the keypad by pressing two keys before making any call. Pretty stupid feature if you ask me. All in all, very good phone for the price.

quaz Jun 27 2006

is it true that the volume of the phone is really hard to hear even if its up to its max

isthephonegood Jun 27 2006

Does this phone get photo id? (When a person calls, you can see their picture on the phone)

bob Jul 01 2006

yeah, it's got photo id

Jamiev20 Jul 03 2006

Did anyone figure out how to use those mp3's as a text message sound instead of the preloaded tone?

Is there anyway to make the MP3's play through bluetooth?

Does this phone have that stupid way of copy your contacts to the phone and then have 2 sets of names in 1 phone book? (thinking about purchasing 1)

cingular_rep Jul 04 2006

i work for cingular... this phone is seriously being overlooked time and time again... every single cust i have sold one of these to have had nothing but rave reviews on the phone... it seriously is the best thing on the market as far as cingular service goes right now, hands down... sony eric w600 and the V3 dont have a thing on it... buy this phone and you will not regret it...

Rafael Jul 04 2006

CLH Jul 16 2006

does anybody know how to take the mp3 songs and make them a ringtone if not, then what do they mean by mp3 ringtones and how do you get them?

Cary C. Jul 16 2006

So far, this is a great phone but it does have its quirks. Visualization wise, the screen and the menus are pleasing to look at. If you wanted, you are able to change the color combinations of the menus just for a more personal feel.
Audio wise, i feel that the speakerphone is loud enough for a quiet environment but once you are in a moving car or in a room with some background noise and some people in it, the speakerphone doesn't seem satisfactory. The speakerphone is not bad though, just one audio level above the max setting would seem to be sufficient to solve this problem. Audio from the headset is satisfactory but not excellent. Another shortcoming is that i cannot make audio "profiles." I guess i have gotten comfortable with my nokia before this phone but profiles i believe are a useful feature.
When you press the "face" buttons, you get a beep unless you are in silent mode. Unfortunately, you cannot change this and it is either on or off, and because you cannot change the sound of the beep or manipulate the beep volume, the beeping can get annoying. This is the first phone that i have come by that does not give you the ability to change the beep/volume of the navigation controls. fortunately, you can change the beeps of the numerical keypad though.
I like the strength of the sliding feature because the movement is predictable and easy to control.
Overall, the phone is a great and feature packed but unfortunately, it does lack some basic personalization features found in other phones.

Lils' Jul 18 2006

Okay so here's a weird question....but a practical one for me. I am only 4'11 and subsequently have very small hands. Would i be comfortable holding this phone for a long coversation? It looks thin but wide in some of the pictures.

Big Tony Dog Jul 26 2006

No Lils, I hear cingular is putting out a 4'11 and under product line next year tho... best hold out for one of those

D807 owner Sep 12 2006

Cingular Rep,
I recently bought this phone but can't seem to install games via bluetooth. Can you provide the password for java to install midlet files on the phone? You help will be greatly appreciated.

Gideon Sep 13 2006

I lost my phone I've had for a year and a half. This phone I had was a Sony Ericsson S710. Fortunately, I had insurance so Cingular sent me the d807. They sent me this phone because it was the equivalent to what I had.

Although the Sony Ericsson S710 is a discontinued model, I would have to say it is s7o much more handy and more useful than the d807. This phone does not even have an apostrophe symbol for text messaging use yet it has sanscript egyptian symbols I will never use in my life. I swear, you have to go through a barrage of menus and etc just to create a text message and sent it to someone in the address book. It was more frustrating than having to pressing endless telephone options that will never direct you to a live operator when you need them the most.,, Transferring files is a pain - does not come with micro sd. No equipment was given to transfer files, for those who do not have bluetooth compatible PC's or laptops. The S710 came with a memory card, usb cable and a card adapter.

I will not complain how sleek and sexy the design is compared to the swivel hulky phone I use to own. The display is absolutely gorgeous and crystal clear than the old phone. But thats about it. I would still choose my trusty, more featured S710 over the Samsung anyday even if I had to pay more. It's just too bad they discontinued the model :-(

barry Sep 15 2006

Is there a way to transfer files from your PC using bluetooth directly onto the memory card? The adapter they sent is no good and i'm too lazy to go buy a new one. This possible?

That Guy Sep 27 2006

1. Are their headphone jacks to play MP3's or somehting? I wanna listen to it in class so...

2. Whats the maximum size for the Micro SD card?

3. Can I use my MP3s as ringtones?

4. How would I put MP#s on my phone?

Anon Sep 29 2006

to That Guy:

1. the charging slot is the same as the headphone slot. You need a special headphone for mp3s

2. I'm using 1 GB with no problem

3. Yes, you can also use MIDI (they are under the "Audio" section).

4. Using the micro SD card and transfer from your computer, buy a data cable ($6 on Ebay), or use a bluetooth capable computer.

james s Sep 29 2006

so you cant use your mp3's on the mem card for ring tones whats the point of the card then.....GAY !

Joanne Oct 02 2006

I am trying to decide between the D807 and the razor looking for the comparrison.....
which should I buy? cost is the same for either.

Joanne Oct 02 2006

I am trying to decide between the D807 and the razor. OK help which one is better...pros and cons of each? Price of both is the same. What I need is a comparison.

blahh Oct 09 2006

is the ringtone really that hard to hear?? ughhh oh and on the site it said it doesn't vibrate.. is that true? it's hard to believe that a phone today doesn't vibrate.

Umm Oct 10 2006

I bought the D807 like 2 weeks ago and I think it way better than what I had before and that's a Nextel. The D807 is sleek and fits at the palm of my hand. So I'm satisfied but....it doesn't come with a SD card or a data cable so there's a con to that part. Still trying to transfer songs from my computer to the phone. Can't believe I have to spend more money to buy the card and the data cable. But overall, I give a thumbs up to this phone.

eve Oct 11 2006

yea i hav this phone nd hav a couple questions.

1) can u use recorded stuff as ringtones?
2) why cant i got to the shop on the phone? it says service not available. what does that mean?
3) is there ne way to buy mp3's of the internet to my phone?

Chris Oct 14 2006

Whats the price for the
Samsung D807 without the
contract for Cingular
Wireless?

J Oct 18 2006

To use an MP3 as a ringtone, you need to use a MP3 cutter and cut the song down to approximately 500kb, thats about 30 seconds or so. Otherwise it will not recognize it.

J Oct 18 2006

This phone is abosultely awesome may i ask.

To Chris: The phone is valued over $350 without a plan. But you can get it free via mobiledia.com with a 39.99 plan or higher.

To Eve: Not sure what you mean by recorded stuff, if its not letting you into the shop make sure you have mediabasics or better included in your plan which allows for internet service, you can buy mp3s or download them other ways but you need to have a way to transfer them to your cellphone, via micro SD or data cable. I use a 512mb micro SD and it works great.

To Blahh: Yes it vibrates very well.

To James: Yes you can use MP3 as a ringtone, see my previous message.

Not sure if anyone answered this question, can you listen to the music with bluetooth.

J Oct 18 2006

Just realised my first sentence in my last message was gibberish. I meant "This phone is absolutely awesome may i add"

Sarah Oct 21 2006

if you have fat fingers dont get this phone.

its kind of lame how you have to go through so much to get to easy stuff.

but its hot.
i have the white one.

took me forever to figure out how to get the mp3 working prolly cause im an idiot.

dumbboy Oct 22 2006

where is tha data cable slot? is it the same as the charger and earphone slot? How do i transfer songs from my pc through data cable right but how? does it transfer automatically or does the software will help me convert and shrinks files so that it can fit in the phone. please answer my questions thank you :)

radiohd Oct 27 2006

i dont know what a mp3 cutter is and that is the main reason i want this phone. please explain how to use your mp3s as ringtones

J Oct 28 2006

Reply to radiohd:

It is a program which allows you to split a Mp3 track in to smaller sections. There are many good ones out there, i think i got mine from download.com and basically you cut out the 30 second section that you want as your ringtone and transfer it to your phone. The phone will not recognise the file as a ringtone if the file exceeds 500kb.
