Samsung e317 launched by Cingular
Cingular Wireless last week started a soft launch of the Samsung e317. Most markets should see the phone now, but many Western readers have noted that it is not yet available. This launch confirms rumors contained in
MobileTracker's report on
upcoming cell phones. The camera phone costs $149.99 with a 2-year activation. Cingular is currently running a $50 rebate to bring the price down under the important $100 mark.
Features of the Samsung e317 include:
* VGA Camera with video clip recording
* 128x160 pixel TFT main display with 65,000 colors; 96 x 64 pixel TFT sub display with 65,000 colors
* Java MIDP 2.0
* Weighs only 3 ounces
The Samsung e317 is identical to
AT&T Wireless' Samsung e316 which has already launched. If the e317 is not available in your market yet, give it a few weeks.
