Sports savvy MVNO Mobile ESPN launched its second phone this week, the Samsung ACE. The company reportedly went "back to the drawing board" after failing to draw man subscribers after its launch earlier this year. With the ACE, Mobile ESPN is hoping to attract consumers that not only want sports content but a stylish phone.
Features of the Samsung ACE include:
The Samsung ACE is available now from MobileESPN.com or a range of dealers including Sprint and BestBuy stores. It costs $99 with a new service contract.

That's a good point Galley. Especially with Sprint handsets, since Mobile ESPN already has a relationship with them (they use their network and are sold in Sprint stores). It wouldn't be 100% the same, since the interface of the phones are customized for ESPN, but it seems like they could sell the main ESPN application for something.
This really looks a lot nicer than their first one (MVP or something like that). But their pricing is still a bit off as far as I'm concerned. Galley has a good idea about bundling it with normal handsets on regular carrriers... That's something I would pay for.
I bought the phone and service. It is dynamic, excellent, and well worth it. The UI is awesome, and the apps run very well on it.
I think that they should be selling this espn ace phone in other stores because when i go to sprint stores to buy that phone they say that the sprint stores dont carry it and i want to know where there is a sprint store that carrys it next to me
I just got the Samsung ACE also and the phone and service are both awesome. My one complaint about the phone is that the battery drains very quickly when accessing ESPN content. It seems ok for phone calls only though. You can by a larger battery for $30 though. Again, love this phone and service.
I just picked up the MobileESPN ACE as well...where can I pick up a larger battery?
You can get it through ESPN... mobile.espn.go.com and click on Samsung ACE accessories.

Don't waste your money on the samsung ACE. Its nice to have the Mobile EPSN, but the plans they have to offer are terrible. I have an a900 right now with sprint (the a900 is the same exact phone as the ACE except theres not red design, its silver instead and obviously doesnt say EPSN on it. If you look in the right place you will be able to download the EPSN software for free (not saying its legal, but that its availabe)
Where can you find the espn software for your phone at? I have a Razr and would love the service but there plans are crap.
The ACE is AWESOME The Mobile ESPN service is hard to live without once I started using it. Until September 30 ESPN employees can give friends & family a discount - 3 months of free service as well as some other great deals. If you're interested in getting the REAL service (not some illegal copy of it that WILL get tracked down) email me at brett.e.stewart@espn.com
can anyone tell me if you could get the ace on sprint service???
does a pepsi come with that new shznit?
Dk is definetly the best n64 playa whoo!
ummm first off thats a stupid idea galley because espn service wouldnt cost 10 a month....and if u owned a espn phone like i do ud know that a normal phone doesnt have half the stuff that the ace or mvp does...so if u were smart ud go on mobile espn.com and get a mvp for free and 3 months free service..yeah thats the deal there having n if u want get the ace for 100 it kicks sum major tail...so stop being greedy

The service is amazing, and will change the way you get your sports news, stats, scores, etc. With Game Casts and Fantasy sports right on your phone it's any fan's dream phone.
The ACE is the shiznit. OK so the battery life isnt the greatest. BUT.. Neither is the Razr. This is the phone for the guy ( or Gal) that is tired of carrying that bulky cell phone everywhere. This phone is light, thin and brilliant. Its a best buy for 99 bucks. The ESPN content is unequaled by anyone. And by the way.... NO YOU CANT GET THE CONTENT WITHOUT THE PHONE. Unless you are willing to spend 10000X as much for the needed equipment to do it. That sure doesnt make sense.
Can you get the ace on a sprint service plan? PLEASE COMMENT BACK SO MYABE I CAN GET IT
Can you get the ace on a sprint service plan? PLEASE COMMENT BACK SO MAYBE I COULD GET IT
You can't get the Ace but you can get the A900 from sprint. You can only get the Ace from ESPN Mobile
Alright guys, im really on the fence with the Ace. All i need is one more comment that will push me to either side. Please, need you help on this one, money is such a good thing to waste. Thanks everyone...
Alright, here's one question. Why the hell does the new phone, the ACE, have all these frickin' awesome features yet fail to have a slot for an SD card??? That is the one major HUGE drawback of the new phone, and even though it doesn't look as nice, I still vote for the MVP phone. What do you guys think?
if i have an ace can i activate it on the sprint network if i dont want espn mibile?
The only reason why i dont want the ace is because no SD slot. One feature everyphone should have. We all love to record video and take pictuers with basically unlimited space. WHY WHY WHY couldnt it have it =( Sanyo MVP im gettin that one.
What I don't understand is why they don't offer the ESPN Mobile service on phones that would support its hardware requirements. I've got a 2-month old A900 for which I would gladly pay $10/month for the ESPN Mobile service.
