Motorola KRZR K1m launched by Verizon Wireless

Sep 29 2006 - 04:27 PM ET | Motorola, Verizon Wireless

Motorola KRZR K1mVerizon Wireless has become the first US carrier to launch Motorola's next-gen KRZR K1 series handset. The Motorola KRZR K1m (or in MOTOmarketing speak, the MOTOKRZR K1m) continues where the RAZR V3m left off--sleek design, more memory and dedicated music control keys. Spec wise the phones aren't too different, the design is the biggest change. Despite being after the RAZR, the KRZR is a tad chunkier--17mm opposed to 14mm.

Features of the Motorola KRZR K1m include:

  • EV-DO high-speed data
  • 64MB memory plus microSD card slot
  • 1.2 megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth
  • Size: 4.06" × 1.73" × 0.67"

WireFly is selling the KRZR K1m for $139.99 with Verizon Wireless service after a $40 rebate and 2-year service agreement. Currently the handset is only available in black, but if history is any indication it will become available in other color palettes before long. The GSM equipped KRZR K1 is expected to begin selling later in the fourth quarter from a US carrier.
