Motorola KRZR K1 officially announced

motorola krzr kqWhile it comes as no surprise (thanks to the ample supply of leakage), Motorola has officially announced the KRZR K1. Codenamed the Canary, the Motorola RAZR K1 will come in both GSM and CDMA variants. The CDMA version will be dubbed the K1m, a la the existing RAZR V3m that Verizon Wireless is currently shipping.

Features of the MOTOKRZR K1 include:

  • GSM 850/900/1800/1900 plus EDGE
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 176 × 220 260k TFT
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • MicroSD card slot
  • Enhanced phonbook, support for more info (IM/address/birthday/etc)
  • Screen 3
  • Midi, MP3, AAC, AAC+ enhanced music player
  • Size: 42 × 103 × 16 mm

Features vary somewhat for the K1m. Changes include a 65K color screen, CDMA 800/1900, CDMA 1X/EV-DO, 1.3 megapixel camera and music control keys on the outside face. Motorola expects both versions to begin shipping in the second half of the year.

UPDATE: Verizon Wireless has started shipping the Motorola KRZR K1m, it's available for $139.99.
