As far as I can see the no-contract price for the phone is 249.99, according to T-Mobile's website, which does not show any higher price.

Heather: If you already have T-Mobile service and you just want that phone to use with them than yes, you can. As far as unlocked pink V3's go, you might want to look to a unlocked phone store because no carrier sells their phones unlocked.

The Magenta RAZR may be bought through T-Mobile LOCKED to T-Mobile. However, if you want to PAY FULL price, then goto e-bay where you can get one that is UNLOCKED (UNLOCKED= you can use it on ANY GSM carrier T-Mobile, Cingular, etc.) for about $300.

No you cannot use this with Verizon or Sprint since they use a different technology called CDMA where T-Mobile and Cingular use GSM. I do believe that Verizon will FINALLY offer some COOL phones including the RAZR.

By the way people,

To unlock a GSM carrier specific phone you have to pay $$ to have it done. So, you will likely save money to just get the phone off of e-bay and pay the full price.

Remember, Cingular will not offer any product replacement/protection plan on this phone until they carry it and you resign a contract with them.

It's true that every cell phone has its own weak/strength, but they're also differ b/c diffrent user experiences.
Here is a user review that I think is very similar to your situation. Find the reviewer name "baalpeteor" using find function. (edit -> find if you're using IE)

Alternatively, if you care more about the function, then the V276 is another mighty phone that has solid battery life and reception along with voice recognition and basic multimedia features.

This may be a bit late. Verizon will never have the Razr V3 Magenta b/c the V3 is GSM phone and Verizon has CDMA network; only CDMA phone will work on Verizon's network, such as the Razr V3c. (not Razr V3)

Since, I have the phone this may answer some questions:

I bought my PR from T-Mobil online. When I got it the next day the camera & photo functions didn't work. I sent it back & now I have a new one.

I do like that the phone is skinny but it's width does hurt my hand. If you are a chronic texter this may not be the phone for you.

I always have service which is more than I can say for my Nextel phone.

Anyway, I do really like the PR phone & I would suggest buying it if you can afford it. (I did twice!)

I purchased an unlocked pink razr for my wife and she uses it on cingular. Yes I paid alot but she loves it so its worth it. I called cingular and they helped me to program the phone they were very nice about it. I bought the phone at www.simoncell.com they were very nice. The only draw back could be if you have a problem with the phone you have to call Motorola not cingular. But so far so good. I think i saw the phone on there website for 259.00 but I am not sure.

Why the fuss? You can make your RAZR to look like anything. Heck mine is black with silver flames and looks awesome. Just change the faceplates...It's rather easy. I would suggest you get the proper torx screw driver for the screws under the rubber stoppers though. I have several different types of faceplates for when I am bored and even have an extra set of screws just in case. The RAZR is very versatile.

I have had the pink razor since xmas, and i love it. Girls who wear make-up, i suggest you get a clear case or keep wet naps, because the faceplate as well as inside gets gross. Also be careful not to drop it because it will break very easily. It is not hard to use and i ALWAYS have service. T-moble is my carrier and cingular will pick it up if you are out of t-moble range. 4 those alltel and verizon users, sorry the phone will not be avalible.......your best bet is to by the black razor and get the plate 4 aroung 20$, it looks exactly the same. they also come in different designs and colors such as orange, lime green, yellow, and light blue. if you want the real thing you can by it on e-bay 4 250-300$

I'm a T-mobile user, and I love the magenta razr. Its not available through cingular but there is a pink one.

the magenta razr is avalible 4 cingular as for verizon they have the light pink one, its just a shade of color! verizon is better anyways.

The Magenta RAZR is available only for use on T-Mobile.

Any Cingular or Tmobile RAZR can be unlocked for use on the other carrier. ie: TMobile to Cingular, Cingular to TMobile
