Palm has officially announced the Treo 700p smartphone. Speculation of the device began last year and specifications/photos began leaking early this year. The 700p brings the features of the 700w to a handset with the Palm OS.

Both Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS will be launching the Treo 700p. Sprint will launch it first, arriving in stores later this month for $399. Palm hasn't announced if a GSM version will be made available (like with the Treo 650).
