T-Mobile USA launches kidConnect

Adding to this week's launch of Disney Mobile and Verizon Wireless Chaperone, T-Mobile USA is getting in the game with kidConnect. Aimed at helping parents manage costs, kidConnect is basically a new service plan that doesn't allow any overage fees.

For $19.99 per month, the plan includes:

  • Unlimited in-network calling (which is also played up as unlimited calling between parent and child)
  • Unlimited weekend calling
  • 50 whenever minutes

Text messaging is included and is converted at 4 outgoing texts per whenever minute (incoming messages are free). Once the 50 whenever minutes are used, the phone is unable to place calls outside of the network unless it's the weekend or the call is to 911. kidConnect is compatible with any T-Mobile handset.
