CTIA IT 2006 --Verizon Wireless has named Motorola as its network infrastructure provider for the upcoming EV-DO Rev A upgrade. Sprint has taken the lead with Rev A as of late so Verizon is stuck playing catch up. Compared to Rev 0, Rev A provides a minor speed increase on the downlink, but dramatically increases upload speeds.
Verizon previously announced a partnership with Lucent on the Rev A upgrade. Timing was not revealed in either announcement.
