The T-Mobile Sidekick III has been approved by the FCC, somewhat confirming speculation that the hotly anticipated device will launch this Summer. While exclusively marketed in the US as the Sidekick, the device is actaully made by Danger who calls it the HipTop. Sharp is the actual manufacturer, hence their presence in the photo. While Danger has not even hinted at the new device, photos of it have been floating around the internet since late last year. The Sidekick II began shipping in September 2004.
Feature wise not too much is known about the Sidekick III (or even the name--roman numerals could be dropped in favor of calling it the Sidekick 3). However, we were able to deduce that the new device will sport Bluetooth and a 1.3 megapixel camera. An SD card slot is rumored, but not confirmed. Sharp filed for 45 days of confidentiality, which should bring more details to light in June. That likely cooresponds with its announcement.

i wOuld like the sidekiCk 3 to have: the abilty to not only capture video, but also playback video say, from the web. Plus, i would also hope for a camera that produces crisp and clear pictures and also to take great photos at night, for this a good flash is needed. The 3rd item that i think would make an approvment would be the glow-color of the keyboard, perhaps a euphoric blue and possibly a transforming purple glow. this will add major points. next, i would want to have an mp3 player. with the mp3 player i would want to be able download songs for free from the web. like limewire and other free sharing. Number five, stay with the trademark swivel screen, please don't convert to the sliding screen. the sk3 needs the sd slot. i would also LIKE to be able to change the homescreen background, i mean c'mon i don't want the same picture forever. i want to switch the background up a little bit like say, wallpapers! bluetooth would be cool. and java too. yahoo.im, aim, msn im, needed.regular over-air-downloads must be keeped up with and sent too. ALSO, i would like it if the flash from the camera would be able to turn on for using as a flashlight, that would be good, although it is not necessary for approval. there are Many other additions as well that i would be interested in

I ordered my Sidekick 3 on the June28th right at midnight and according to the tracking number it should be here tomorrow and I'm sooooooo flipping excited, I can't WAIT! I have had the Sidekick 2 for like a year and a half and I bought the Pink Razr a month ago and someone stole it (So i didn't have the Upgrade option seeing that I just upgraded a month ago) so I had to pay $349.99 with $9.99 for shipping and like $24 in tax....so it was about $384 all together, not too bad! =] Has anyone gotten theirs yet?!? I HAVE THE SIDEKICK BUT THE HARD PART IS DOWNLOADING MUSIC INTO THE MP3
I have the SK3. Ordered it on 6/28, had it on 6/30. Downloading music is really easy...at least if you use WinXP. It shows up as a regular removable drive. This allows you to add music and download your pics from the camera right to your computer...no more need to email them to yourself. I like the BT and the audio quality of the speaker is great. I just ordered a 2GB miniSD. The proprietary corded headset/headphones are kinda annoying because if they get lost or destroyed, you'll be buying a replacement right from t-mobile. I just wish it did video playback and that I could listen to my mp3s through BT. But the phone is much faster in general and is a vast improvement over the sk2. I'll be even happier when they finish migrating the sk2 apps to the sk3. Oh and if I could figure out how to use it as a modem, that EDGE would really come in handy. :-)

i used to have the SDK2...but it was just too big. i never had a really bad problem with it besides size. I changed to a Motorola RAZR v3i...the one with iTunes..except it was the european version and had digital audio player. so im kind of dissappointed because im an absolute iTunes freak. lol. but im wondering if the SDK3 has iTunes. I hear all about windows media player...and a few ppl say u can load iTunes...but im not sure, so any feedback would be good.

((((That is not what it looks like. Yes it has itunes and you can also download windows media player for fun. It has bluetooth. Records videos, plays videos, and take pictures of course. The sidekick is smaller, not that much smaller)))). I am a sidekick3 expert, I do not work with tmobile, I work with Danger itself. Any questions, post up your emails and I will email you.
I believe Danger company and I just found a website "danger.com". So, How I get sk3 put on video in download (it will upgrade soon?) because I already bought it "Sept 15, 2006" I just love to figure Sidekick 3 get download in "high speed internet on modem wireless" but I not professional on upgrade on danger company.. (chuckling mysel) I curious who can do with SK 3... I not sure sk3 already include 3G service?? I noticed my sk3's verison (Danger OS v3.0) Umm, what is v3.0... can you tell me about it
