BlackBerry 7130c launched by Cingular

BlackBerry 7130cAs expected, Cingular Wireless has launched the BlackBerry 7130c. The device was approved by the FCC last month and has a similar feature set to the 7130e which is carried by both Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Along with the introduction of the 7130c, Cingular has also introduced a new service plan aimed at selling BlackBerry handsets to individuals without access to corporate email servers.

Features of the BlackBerry 7130c include:

  • Quadband GSM with EDGE
  • SureType QWERTY hybrid keyboard
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • 240X260 pixel screen with 65K colors
  • 64MB flash memory and 16MB RAM

Cingular will begin shipping the 7130c on Monday, June 12th. The new service planned mentioned above is unlimited email and web browsing for $29.99/month with a qualified voice plan. The actual 7130c device will cost $199.99 after a 2-year service agreement.
